Although NFL Week 6 didn’t feature close results, much drama kept fans on the edge of their seats. The games on Sunday started with the Chicago Bears facing the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

NFL Week 6 Sunday Recap
The first game is between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. In the past, visiting Cowboys Stadium to play the Dallas Cowboys was a nightmare for NFL teams. However, ‘America’s Team’ is now having trouble securing a victory at AT&T Stadium. On Sunday, the Cowboys fell 47-9 at home against the Lions, marking their fourth consecutive loss. The result was historic.
This was not how Jerry Jones wanted to celebrate his 82nd birthday (he turned 82 on Sunday) since the loss was the worst home loss under his franchise ownership, which began in 1989. Against the Lions, Dallas was completely outplayed from the opening whistle. The Lions’ offense piled up 492 yards, while Dallas managed 251.
After that, there’s the Washington Commanders vs. Baltimore Ravens game. According to NFL betting strategies experts, they were two of the most talked-about teams in the first half of the season, and the quarterback duo of Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels made this “Battle of the Beltway” an absolute must-watch.
Ultimately, though, the victor was the seasoned Jackson, as Baltimore prevailed against Washington 30-23. Jackson, named the NFL MVP for the 2018 season, completed 20 of 26 passes for 323 yards and a score. He also ran for 40 yards and had an interception. Nevertheless, Jackson’s 10-yard scamper in the middle of the first quarter was especially meaningful since he surpassed 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton for the second-most running yards by a quarterback in league history.
After the game, Jackson rushed for 5,661 yards, surpassing Newton’s previous record 5,628. Regarding career running yards, he is currently second only to Michael Vick, who amassed 6,109.
Drake Maye’s Debut
Drake Maye was selected third overall in the 2024 NFL Draft and made his NFL debut in Week 6. Despite some promising plays, the Houston Texans blew down Maye and the New England Patriots at home, 41-21.
After Joe Mixon’s ankle injury sidelined him since Week 1, his comeback served as the spark that ignited Houston’s offense. According to football sportsbook experts, the running back gained 102 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground and another 30 yards and a score in the air.
Maye exhibited flashes of inexperience and reasons for being a highly considered candidate in the draft. The Texans picked off the 22-year-old on his third pass attempt, but he completed a long touchdown ball to Kayshon Boutte from 40 yards out right before halftime.
New England still has reason to be optimistic despite losing their sixth game in a row thanks to two touchdown passes from Maye, including a long completion to Demario Douglas. Still, according to the NFL, Maye broke a record on Sunday by being the first quarterback since at least 1950 to pass for three touchdowns or more and lead his team in running in her first professional start.
