I am not sure about the MLB allowing this. But since the Olympics will be in the US, this would be a great opportunity to showcase the skills of MLB and other pro players. We won't know until maybe two years at the very least.
The 2028 Olympics begin in July, right in the thick of the regular season. Allowing their players to train and play would be a logistical nightmare. If they will allow them, we would likely see a huge adjustment in the baseball calendar.
Always on the lookout for extra income so I can retire early. Got lucky with betting. Had I known, I should have learned how to become a college bookie. Maybe I would have been semi-retired now. Soon, though. Soon.
Rob Manfred, MLB's commissioner, expressed an "open-minded" attitude toward sending players to the 2028 Olympics during the All-Star break. However, as @mr-b said, it will be a logistical nightmare. Will the US do the same if the Olympic committee allows Major League players to participate?
