According to sources, right-handed pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano, the most successful Japanese pitcher of his generation in Nippon Professional Baseball, will be an international free agency this winter and join Major League Baseball.

Sugano is now enjoying a comeback season, having made 24 starts with the Yomiuri Giants, the champions of the Central League, and posting a 1.67 ERA. He will be 35 in a week. His renaissance allowed him to make it to Major League Baseball, and he has won the Sawamura Award (Japanese for "Cy Young") twice, been named MVP twice, and won four times for earned run average.

Do you think that he will make an impact in the MLB?

I love fair play!
